Commission FAQs

Are you currently accepting commissions?

  • I accept a limited number of commissions annually. As of September 2026, my studio  calendar has a few spots left for the remainder of the year, but they will fill up quickly. Please use the contact form on my website or email me at eelanger@gmail.com to secure your spot.

What are your price ranges for commissions?

  • Commission pricing is tailored to the size and detail of the piece. As a helpful baseline to determine your budget, my standard sizing begins at  $100 for an intimate 4x4  painting and goes up to larger statement wall pieces in a variety of sizes based on your needs. An 8"X10" oil painting, for example, begins at $400.

How does the commission process work?

  • After receiving your initial inquiry, I would need to see a photograph or other inspiration you have in mind for your painting, along with any notes as to your vision. Once we have discussed your needs and determined sizing for your piece, I ask for a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your spot on the studio calendar. The remainder of the fee is due upon completion and your final approval. Once the painting is finished I will deliver it to you through your preferred method, either in person if you are within my delivery radius or by insured mail.

How long does a commission take to complete?

  • This depends on size, subject and your place in my studio calendar (communicated to you before booking). Painting generally takes somewhere between 2-3 weeks for mid-sized paintings. Because I work in traditional oil paint, the canvas can take  2-3 weeks at minimum to dry in the studio before it can safely be varnished, packed and delivered after completion. Please be clear about your required timeline when booking. I will always do my best to work with you to meet your needs. Coming into the holiday season, the earlier that you are able to book your commission, the more likely I will be able to guarantee delivery before the holidays. A good time to book is before the end of September to mid October depending on availability.

Do you only do portrait commissions?

  • I love painting portraits, engagements and wedding scenes, but I would be happy to work with you for whatever you have in mind. Many people choose to have a portrait painted of a beloved pet, vacation scene or other vignettes of home and family. Please see my Shop and Sold sections for other examples of my work.

I want you to paint a commission for me! How do I contact you?

  • Please feel free to use the contact section right here on my website, or send me an email at eelanger@gmail.com. I am always happy to hear from you!
